Nag Tibba Trek- Short Trek near Mussoori
Before turning 20, I wanted to go on a solo journey, so I packed my luggage and headed for Nag Tibba Trek. In addition to being my first solo trip, I took an overnight government bus from Delhi to Dehradun. I left Kashmere Gate ISBT about 11:45 at night and arrived in Dehradun at precisely 05:30 in the morning via bus. I got an auto from ISBT Dehradun to the train station, where I was to meet the guide and the other travellers.
I had been looking forward to the walk for a long time since, instead of climbing college stairs, I would be climbing a mountain top after three months! From Denhroadun we went to Pantwari that was three to four hour walks apart which was our destination point. The moment I arrived in Pantwari, I carried my bag and loaded it to put on some sunscreen first while getting a bottle of water and then sipping it as I prepared for the trip that followed.
About 1200 we had begun the trek and at about 1600 we arrived at the base camp. The long and adventurous journey was with many sights that were not able to he taken by eyes. First, we took the walk through a small settlement that had utensils and buildings, then we went onto the desolate, hot lan, and the heat and humidity cracked all their bones and their blood boiled like in a pressure cooker. But sometimes, while travelling along this trail, you unexpectedly discover touching little flowers of different shades, including purple and yellow ones. And even across the valley there are magnificent scarlet rhododendrons.
We met the people and they were doing their ordinary obligations, the women carried food and fodder while the men were rearing their animals. We visited little houses and goat hamlet there. What aeterials they were and what I particularly enjoyed was the combination of beauty and delight in a monotonous landscape.
The author narrates their voyage across the Nag Tibba region, a place rare for the view from the top of the world down and the jovial rocky dogs of the Pahari kind. Last evening, at the peak site, they have had dinner with a dog who has accompanied them till the next day. The author is not just mentioning encountering nice people who gave tents and shared but also patented that the same line. They loved soups and popcorn and were unable to stay awake after thirty minutes of eating them despite the cold
On the second day was the dawn, I got up very early and walked to the top, the distance about four km. Along the way, you will pass through a forest and then have to go up to the snow-covered path. During the summit I captured photos of the view and I also witnessed a pūjā. The journey pulsated such optimism and rush of bliss. Upon reaching the base camp, I took pleasure in having Rajma Chawal and I was fetching a fresh water to wash my face.
Although I didn't expect Nag Tibba adventure to be more than I thought, the time I've spent, having made new friends, and having a new point of view concerning the life and traveling, proved to be an incredibly valuable and memorable experience. The trek's beauty is amallable, and the path ahead that leads to Pantwari being escorted up by the guide makes a hobbits village look like from Lord of the Rings.
